Linking Shades of Green Reservations
If you are staying at Shades of Green Military Resort and/or have Military Disney Discounted Tickets, there are a few extra steps you will need to do prior to your trip. Find all the details below.
Shades of Green Resort Reservations
Just a quick refresher, if you don’t know what Shades of Green is, it is a Military only resort ON Walt Disney World property. The resort is open to all Service Members on Active Duty, Retired, Reserves, National Guard, DoD Employees, Purple Heart Recipients, Veterans with a VA-documented service-related injuries and a few others. To see if you are eligible to stay at Shades of Green resort, check out the eligibility requirements.
Once you’ve secured a resort reservation at Shades of Green you are going to need to link that reservation to your My Disney Experience account. If you don’t already have a My Disney Experience account, you can create a new account HERE. When you are linking your Shades of Green resort reservation, you should use a computer or your phones browser.
DO NOT use the Walt Disney World app.

Once you get logged in, you will see the screen above. Click on “Link a Reservation”. And click on “Link a Reservation” you will be brought to the screen below. You will need to enter the last name of whoever the reservation is under (even if you are sponsoring a room for a family member, the service member/sponsor’s last name will be the one you need to enter here).

When linking your resort reservation, you are going to need your reservation confirmation number. When you book your room, either leave that tab open so you can copy & paste your confirmation number (NOTE: It can take up to 72 hours after booking for your reservation to link to your My Disney Experience account. So, if you get an error message, wait a day or two and try again). Or if you are linking your reservation afterwards, you can find that confirmation number on your confirmation email from Shades of Green.

An Important Note: When you book your Shades of Green reservation, make sure that you enter the correct number of guests traveling in your party. This is important because when you link your reservation to your My Disney Experience account, it will ask you to update the guests’ names. Once you click “done”, you WILL NOT be able to edit your reservation without having to call Disney IT support.
If you make ANY changes to your Shades of Green reservation, CHECK YOUR MY DISNEY EXPERIENCE account. Most of the time when you make changes to your reservation, it will un-link itself from your My Disney Experience account and you will need to go back in and re-add it.
You will also want to make sure that everyone is linked to your My Disney Experience account, so the correct guests have a theme park ticket and theme park reservation linked to them. For Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours, someone in your party will have their MagicBand or park ticket scanned, and a Cast Member will confirm the number of people. It will also be important if you plan to purchase Disney Genie+ or Individual Lightning Lane selections. The app will automatically select the people linked to your plans.
I hope this post helps you with all your Shades of Green. If you have a specific question that I did not answer here, please drop a comment and I’d be happy to answer it!
