Understanding Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World
Beginning July 24th, 2024 – Walt Disney World will be re-branding Disney Genie+ to Lightning Lane Multi Pass. There are some slight differences between the two. Read more to understand what is Lightning Lane, Lightning Lane Multi Pass, and Lightning Lane Single Pass.
What is Lightning Lane Multi Pass?
Lightning Lane Multi Pass is a paid service that allows you to make (3) advance Lightning Lane experiences for dozens of attractions in the parks.
What IS a Lightning Lane?
A Lightning Lane lets you skip the normal standby line and join a separate line that is significantly less than the traditional wait time.
How much does it cost?
Lightning Lane Multi Pass is priced out per person, EACH day. The cost varies by date and theme park.
How do I access it?
On the My Disney Experience Mobile app. Under the “Tip Board”.
Are all rides included?
Not all rides are included (especially the ones that are considered a Single Pass). Available rides are listed on the “Tip Board”.
What are the rules?
- Disney Resort hotels Guests and other select hotels can purchase passes and begin making their selections starting 7 days before the first day of their Resort stay, for their length of stay (up to 14 days), starting at 7:00 AM Eastern Time on their first day of eligibility.
- Other select hotels include Shades of Green Resort, Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, Walt Disney World Swan Hotel & the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve.
- All other guests can begin making their selections 3 days in advance, starting at 7:00 AM Eastern Time on their first day of eligibility.

Do I need Lightning Lane Multip Pass to buy a Lightning Lane Single Pass?
No. Guests do not need to purchase the Lightning Lane Multi Pass to purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass. Single Passes and the Multi Pass are completely independent of each other.
