Hardest to get Advance Dining Reservations at Walt Disney World

There’s no doubt about it. Walt Disney World has some AMAZING restaurants. Some are noteworthy for the food, some for the experience and some for both!

BUT these restaurants are extremely popular and can be very hard to secure Advanced Dining Reservations for. As I’ve said before, you definitely want to know your reservation windows (60 Days Prior in advance)… especially if you’re trying to snag a popular ADR. Reservations can be made starting each day *typically at 5:45am EST online (previously 6am EST so if times aren’t immediately available keep refreshing) or 7am EST by phone.

  • Pro Tip: If you’re staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, try booking your last day first for your ADRs. There will be more reservation times further into your trip than on your first day. Those not staying on property will have to book every day individually; whereas on property guests will be able to reserve every day for the length of their trip (up to 10 days) starting at the 60-day arrival date.

Top 6 Hard to get Avance Dining Reservations

No. 1 Space 220 Restuarant & Space 220 Lounge

Space 220 Restaurant is an out-of-this-world dining experience in Epcot where you will board a special simulated space elevator that takes you 220 miles above Earth. While you dine you can get stellar aerial views of Epcot and the Earth below. This is a pre-fixe menu, a 2-course meal at lunch or a prix-fixe, 3-course meal at dinner—both featuring modern American cuisine.

Equally as hard to get is the Space 220 Lounge. The difference between the restaurant and the lounge is the that the lounge that it is “bar seating” and the lounge menu is just appetizers and drinks. Kids are allowed to sit at the bar (because… it’s Disney) and it’s a way to experience the restaurant without paying for the pre-fix menu.

No. 2 Topolino’s Terrace

Topolino’s Terrance Breakfast is probably tied for first when it comes to one of the hardest to get Advance Dining Reservations at Walt Disney World. The breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace is a character dine at the top of Disney’s Riveria Resort. At Topolino’s Terrace you will find Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck, all in their artist outfits. Breakfast is also a pre-fixe meal including those iconic Mickey Waffles.

No. 3 ‘Ohana

‘Ohana Breakfast is a character dine with Lilo & Stitch, Mickey and Pluto. Enjoy an American family style breakfast with a Polynesian twist. A phenomenal “all you care to enjoy” breakfast that includes a delightful pineapple coconut breakfast bred, Stitch Waffles and incredibly flavorful Pog Juice. The food is absolutely delicious and the view of Seven Seas Lagoon and Cinderella Castle in the background is a must see!

‘Ohana does have a family style dinner menu that is just as good as breakfast. Dinner is NOT a character dine. Reservations for dinner aren’t as hard to come by as the breakfast reservations, but if you are interested in having dinner, do not hold off on making reservations if you can. Be sure to bring your appetite because there is a LOT to eat! Salad, the signature ‘Ohana bread, chicken wings, dumplings, peel-n-eat shrimp, noodles and MORE!! Not to mention, they have one of my favorite cocktails that comes served in a hollowed-out pineapple!

No. 4 Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White

Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White is another character dining restaurant. Venture through the Enchanted Forest where you can dine with Snow White, Grumpy and Dopy. And at the end of your meal, pose for a picture with The Evil Queen. This is a pre-fixe meal with some truly amazing options, fit for a Queen.

No. 5 Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is a fun, unique themed restaurant in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Made to make you feel like you’re in your car, at the drive-in having dinner and a movie. While you eat your meal, you’ll watch old sci-fi clips from the 50’s.

The food is “All American cuisine” and is averagely priced. This restaurant is definitely popular for the experience, but I feel that the food is great and well worth the price.

No. 6 Yak & Yeti Restaurant

Yak & Yeti Restaurant is described as a “Nepalese-style” restaurant. Which is the traditional style food from Nepal. You will find Lo Mein, Fried Rice, Teriyaki Chicken and many other Asian style favorites.

The theming is great here but the experience isn’t the same as the others. What you’re getting here is DELCIOUS food and large portions. The price is absolutely justified and totally reasonable for what you’re getting. Some of the adult meals could even be shared between 2, maybe even 3 kids depending on how big of eaters they are.

What to do when you can’t get the reservation you want?

If you are unable to secure one of these highly coveted dining reservations, do not panic! People change their plans and cancel their reservations all the time. You can keep checking back and checking your dates to see if any reservation times become available. Or you can set up free dining alerts through MouseDining.

MouseDining is a great service if you really had your heart set on dining at a specific restaurant and don’t want to spend the time constantly checking the Disney website or app. Once you set up your alerts, you will get an email or text alert when a dining reservation comes available for the restaurant date you selected. These alerts take the headache out of checking and rechecking.
