What type of resort activities & amenities does Shades of Green have?

Shades of Green has several different types of activities and amenities for its resort guests. Whether you’re looking for something for the kids to do at the resort, get a relaxing massage or play a game of cornhole, there are plenty of options at Shades of Green.

Swimming Pools

There are two different pool locations at Shades of Green. First is the Mill Pond Pool & Splash Park. It has a large Mickey-shaped pool and a water slide for kids 47′ and taller. For little ones, the Splash Park is a perfect spot to play in the water and take a ride down a smaller water slide.

The other pool at Shades of Green is the Magnolia Pool. It is the unofficial “quiet pool”. Typically, less busy than the Mill Pond Pool, the Magnolia pool is a zero-entry U-shaped pool with a hot tub. There is a small outdoor shower to rinse the chlorine off.

Both pools have complimentary towels, life jackets, ample seating with lounge chairs, small side tables, and/or tables with umbrellas. There are bathrooms located at both pools but no private showers. The Mill Pond Pool does have a family bathroom with a separate changing area if you need an area to change.

Complimentary Bus Transportation

Shades of Green Resort Bus Stop

Another great amenity of Shades of Green is the Complimentary Bus Transportation.
Shades of Green has its OWN bus system, specifically just for Shades of Green guests. Three different bus lines will take you all over the Walt Disney World Resort.

  • Transportation & Ticket Center Bus: drops you at the “TTC”, where you will hop on the Monorail to go to either Magic Kingdom or Epcot.
    • Note: There are two different Monorail lines to Magic Kingdom. The Resort Monorail will stop at the three Disney Resorts located on the Monorail as well as Magic Kingdom. The Express Monorail only stops at Magic Kingdom and the Transportation & Ticket Center.
    • You can also catch the Ferry to Magic Kingdom from the Transportation & Ticket Center
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios: makes stops at “AK” first, then goes to “HS” and back to Shades of Green
  • Disney’s Blizzard Beach and Disney Springs – stops at Blizzard Beach first, then Disney Springs, and back to Shades of Green.

Pro Tip: Shades of Green guests CAN use any form of Disney transportation; you are not restricted to just Shades of Green busses.

Playground, Arcade & Outdoor Games

Shades of Green Playground

If you’re looking for something to do on your break day, or maybe on your arrival day, Shades of Green has some options for your family.

Over by the Mill Pond Pool and Evergreens Sports Bar, you will find the playground and arcade. The arcade has many different games to play as well as an Air Hockey table and two pool tables.

Also, outside on either side of Evergreens Sports Bar are several outdoor games. On one side is a ping pong table and on the other side is a large Connect Four, Jenga, Cornhole, Chess, and/or Checkers.

Fitness Center

Shades of Green also has a Fitness Center for any guests who aren’t getting enough steps in, or those who want to keep their gym routine while on vacation.

There are plenty of cardio machines, free weights, weight machines, and almost all of your gym needs. There are men’s and women’s restrooms available for changing but no showers or lockers for storage.

The Fitness Center is open 24/7. All you need is your room key to access the gym.

AAFES Exchange & Attraction Ticket Office

A couple of very valuable amenities at Shades of green are the AAFES Exchange and Attraction & Ticket Sales Office. Having a small Exchange on the property makes things so much easier when you can buy snacks, drinks, and other items at the regular AAFES prices and tax-free (something you won’t find at other resorts). Also having a ticket office in the resort allows you to purchase any additional tickets you might need or local area attractions discounts.

Magnolia Spa

One of the best amenities at Shades of Green is the Magnolia Spa. Not only is this one of just a few spas located on Disney property, it is insanely affordable. And I don’t just mean affordable for being at Disney. I mean crazy good prices in general.

For ONLY $140 The Magnolia Spa Package includes:
– 50 Minute Full Body Massage
– 50 Minute Spa Facial
– 20 Minute Foot Treatment
– Citrus Hand Paraffin Dip

The Magnolia Spa offers a variety of services that include massage, facials, nails & hair services and well as kid’s makeovers and packages. Again, all at really affordable prices and much cheaper than any other spa I’ve ever been to.

On-Site Laundry

And finally, the On-site laundry. The resort has two laundromats located on either wing of the resort. In the Palm Wing, the laundry room is located on the 3rd floor, and in the Magnolia Wing, the laundry room is located on the 2nd Floor. Each laundry room has a microwave (*note: Standard Rooms do not have microwaves so if you need one, this is where you would go) and a Soap Dispenser that sells laundry detergent and dryer sheets. The washer, dryer, and soap dispenser all use a credit card or Apple/Google Pay. These machines DO NOT use cash or coins. Also, if the soap dispenser is out of either soap or dryer sheets, know that the Exchange does sell those items. (I typically bring my own laundry pods in a Tupperware container, that way they don’t get crushed in my suitcase and it’s just cheaper that way)

If you have any specific questions about any Shades of Green amenities, please feel free to drop a comment below and I’ll do my best to help.
