As I’ve said before in my Walt Disney World Lounges post, that when you think of Disney you don’t really think of cocktails. But let me assure you, if you enjoy a good adult beverage even on your Disney vacation, this post has got you covered!
For me, one of my favorite things about going on a Disney vacation is that it’s fun for the entire family. Not like some places that are just for the kids and my husband and I are ready to scream from boredom. Or vice versa where we adults are happy but the kids are going stir crazy. I love that there is something for all of us and for my husband and me, that means enjoying a cocktail by the pool or sipping on an adult beverage while we rest our legs from all that walking in the parks.
If you’re someone like me that grew up going to Disney when there was no alcohol being sold in the parks, this might be a surprise for you to hear. Regardless of what coast you are on, alcohol is served at all of Disney’s theme parks. However, there is one stipulation. And that is, alcohol can only be purchased at a Table Service restaurant in Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom Park. Guest are not able to walk around either of those two parks with alcohol. The other Disney theme parks do allow guests to walk around with alcoholic drinks (to include Disney Springs in Orlando). Between the parks, the resorts, and Disney Springs/Downtown Disney, there are many options as to where you can get a drink. So where are the best spots to grab a drink?

I also like to point out to first-time guests that most of the tables do not have seating; it’s standing room throughout basically the entire lounge. There also isn’t much in the way of food. The lounge opens when the park opens, so if you have a 9am reservation, just know that you won’t be getting any breakfast at Oga’s Cantina. And since there is a Galaxy’s Edge in both Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, it doesn’t matter what coast you’re on, you can still enjoy Oga’s Cantina.
Oga’s Cantina
One of my family’s favorite watering holes is Oga’s Cantina. This is such a fun spot for everyone in your party, even if you’ve never seen a single Star Wars movie. From the lively music, courtesy of DJ R-3X; to the unique out-of-this-world drinks, there is something for each crew member to enjoy.
This spot is extremely popular so advance dining reservations are 110% necessary, so make sure you know when your ADR day is and you can snag a reservation. Then when you’re there, do yourself a favor and try a Fuzzy Tauntaun and a Bespin Fizz. And for the kids, take the memories home with a Cliff Dweller in a souvenir Porg Mug.
Splitsville Luxury Lanes
Another great spot for the whole family is Splitsville Luxury Lanes. This is another great spot that is located on both coasts in the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort and Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Whether you’re looking for a fun activity for your family on your break day or you just want a good meal with a welcoming atmosphere, Splitsville is a great option. This is also a fun spot if you’re on an Adults-Only Trip and are looking for a good time with awesome food and delicious cocktails!
Trader Sam’s
One spot my family always goes to on any Disney vacation is Trader Sam’s. Whether it’s Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar at the Disneyland Resort or Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at the Walt Disney World Resort, it is a MUST GO restaurant.
Every item on the menu is absolutely delicious and some of the cocktails are dangerously strong. So don’t think that just because you’re at Disney their drinks don’t pack a punch, because they do!

Again, this is a great spot with or without kids. The Non-Alcoholic drinks are super tasty and definitely kid-approved. The unique atmosphere and fun vibe is enjoyable for guests of all ages. Just know that after 8pm, it is for 21 and over. So if you’re looking for a chill spot without kids, Trader Sam’s is the place to go.

If you are on an Adults-Only trip or maybe the kids are with the Grandparents for a little while. And you’re looking for a good spot to sit and enjoy a drink someplace that you know the kids would never sit still long enough to even order a cocktail, let alone finish it. I know just the place!
La Cava del Tequila
At Epcot, inside the Mexico Pavilion is La Cava del Tequila. With a Tequila Ambassador as your guide, you can enjoy over 200 different brands of Tequila.
La Cava del Tequila is my favorite spot in all of Epcot. It has the perfect ambiance, delicious chips and salsa (or Guacamole or Queso), and phenomenal margaritas. It is the perfect place to sit and enjoy your Adults-Only time.
*BEWARE! It’s dark inside of the Mexico Pavilion, and the margaritas are so good that you just might lose track of time!
Wine Country Trattoria & Sonoma Terrace
If you happen to be at the Disneyland Resort and you are looking for a nice place to sit and enjoy an adult beverage, then you should definitely head over to Disney California Adventure Park to the Pacific Wharf and check out Wine Country Trattoria or Sonoma Terrace.
Depending on if you’re looking for a meal or just a drink, I suggest either of these two spots. Located side by side, both are great options for Adults-Only (maybe you could get your kids to sit for a minute at Sonoma Terrace, definitely depends on the kid). Sonoma Terrace is perfect if you’re just looking for a cocktail and a nice place to sit and relax. It doesn’t have much in the way of food. So if you’re looking for a nice place to eat with a relaxing setting and good ambiance, Wine Country Trattoria is perfect for that.
With over 25 different wines, several different beer options and a delectable food menu, Wine Country Trattoria could be a great date night spot! Just remember to make your dining reservations in advance because trying to get one the day or by joining the walk-up wait list can be tricky.

Food & Wine Festivals
If you are someone who wants to eat and drink everything while you’re on Disney vacation, then you might want to consider booking your vacation during a Food & Wine Festival. At the Walt Disney World Resort, the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival typically runs from July all the way to November. Every year there are new delicious food and drinks options. With more than 30 food booths around the World Showcase, this is a dream come true for any foodie.
Planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort? Then you will definitely want to plan for the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, which typically runs (for a much shorter time) from March until April. These festivals not only offer specialty food and drink items, but there are celebrity and Disney chef demos. Live music and Tasting Seminars.
Drinks by the Pool
One of my favorite ways to enjoy a Disney vacation is to relax by the pool, soak up the sun and enjoy a nice cold adult beverage! To me, nothing else says “I’m on vacation” quite like lounging by the pool sipping on some fruity drink.
The Disney Resort Hotels make it incredibly easy for it’s guests to spend their money. With the tap of a MagicBand or swipe of your room key, you can charge your food and drink purchases to your room. Most Disney Resort Hotels have Pool Bars that offer a variety of drinks but also meals. You can spend the entire day hanging out by the pool and overindulging yourself.
One last tip. Before your trip, visit the dining pages to see what options your resort has. Or look at the menus of the restaurants and lounges in each park. Every menu is going to be different because it will be themed to whatever cuisine or land that restaurant is in. If you’re looking for some specific it’s best to know in advance because the vast majority of restaurants or lounges in the parks do not have full bars. The options can be very limited depending on where you’re looking to go.
